  1. I am not around kids and young teens, so I don’t know if they still enjoy reading.
Summer time for me was full up with reading – and many trips to the library .
I hope kids today still read.

    1. Many still do! The best way to keep them reading as they grow up is to read to them when their little and keep it up. (I read with my kids well into their teens.) And let them see their adults reading…keep books around the place. The idea is to get them books that appeal to them. With teens, that means covering ideas and topics that concern them. The best way to keep them reading is to listen to what they are thinking about, and what kind of things they are interested in. Then find them the books.
Reading for pleasure is so important for them. A brilliant way to help with mental health, to engage them in creative thinking…and kids who read for pleasure suffer from less ‘educational’ stress and cope with exams, etc much better. The most important thing is not to place a value or judgement on what they want to read…let them chose.
